Wonolo is a platform that claims to give you access to various jobs so you can live life on your terms and work when you want to.

But is Wonolo legit and can it live up to these claims?

Let’s me just reveal right away that it is a legit platform where you can find jobs. But whether it is then good use of time is another question and this really depends on what you are looking for.

This Wonolo review will give you all the details so you know what to expect and whether it is the right option for you or not.

Because even though it has some potential it is not a platform for everyone.

What is Wonolo and how does it work?

Wonolo is a platform that was founded by AJ Brustein and Yong Kim. The goal of the platform is to make it easy for everyone to work around their own priorities.

I think the idea is great as more and more people wish to have the freedom to work more on their own terms.

So the idea is definitely great – how great it then is, in reality, is what this review will help you find out.

You can find a variety of jobs on Wonolo – it can, for example, be storage work, labeling tasks, helping out at events, administrative work, and many other tasks.

One thing they have in common though is that they are usually quite simple jobs that most people can do.

So you do not need any special qualifications to sign up for Wonolo, there are no resumé needed, and there are no interviews.

How to get started?

If you want to give Wonolo a try, you first have to download the Wonolo app as everything takes place through that.

Once you have done this, you need to sign up and go through the onboarding process. It does not take long, but Wonolo needs to verify your identity before you can start finding jobs through the app.

They do this by doing a background check so when you join, you have to upload proof of who you are. It will take a little while for them to check this.

If you get approved, you will get access to the platform. If there is an error, they might ask for additional information.

Once the background check is over, you get access to the job platform. The steps are then:

• Work your job and get paid

Since the jobs you can find on Wonolo usually are jobs that require you to be physically present at a certain company to do the work, you should only apply for jobs that are close to you.

How much can you make with Wonolo jobs?

As a Wonoloer (what Wonolo call the people working there) it is important to know what you can expect in terms of earning.

Because the flexibility Wonolo gives is very nice but you, of course, also need to make sure it can actually make you the money you need.

According to Wonolo itself, you can more or less decide for yourself.

It might not be as easy as it first sounds like.

They say that you can either just work to get a bit of extra cash but also do it as a full-time job.

In one sense I believe this is true. However, it might not be as easy as it sounds.

It is not only up to you how much you want to work.

First of all, there need to be jobs in your local area and there is no guarantee there will also be jobs when you want to work. And this will also very much depend on where you live.

Since it is jobs where you have to physically show up, you can only apply in your local area and if you live in a smaller city, there might never or very rarely be jobs available.

Secondly, there are other people on the platforms as well and jobs usually need a limited number of people. So you will be competing with others about the jobs.

If you are not fast and apply right away, you will likely not get the jobs.

So it takes some time and dedication and you cannot expect that there will always be jobs available in your area when you want to. So I do not think it is quite as easy as it might sound before you join.

However, if you live in a bigger city and are very active on the platform and do the jobs properly, it does give good chances of earning.

And when you have completed a job, the money will usually appear in your Wonolo account after 3-5 business days. So you will get your money fairly quickly.

Just be aware that there are no guarantees about how much you can make. There might be times when you can earn a lot and other times when you cannot find any work at all.

So in my opinion, it can be risky to solely depend on your earnings from Wonolo.

Who can join?

There is not much information on Wonolo about who can join.

However, when you sign up, you need to use a US phone number to verify your account so you need to live in the US to find jobs on Wonolo.

Also, since you need to use the Wonolo app to find the jobs, you can only join if you either have an iOS or Android device as the app is only available here.

Other than that, there are not any requirements to join.

Are there any Wonolo complaints?

Looking at complaints before joining any work opportunity can give you a good idea about what to expect. You should, however, never solely look at complaints as they never give the full picture.

When it comes to Wonolo, there are a few things I have seen mentioned many places and these are, in my opinion, important to consider.

One thing many Wonoloers mention is the earning potential.

The review above explains that it is not really a way to make a full-time income as the salary is often low. I have seen many others also say that the earning potential is low as there often are no jobs in their area.

Or they do not get approved for the jobs they apply for.

This is only natural, in my opinion, considering the nature of the app. As already mentioned earlier, your earning potential will depend a lot on where you live and if you are lucky there are jobs with good salary there.

I have seen many people mention they are making good money through Wonolo. But it is important to manage your expectations and that is why I am mentioning this complaint here.

It is possible to earn but there are no guarantees for how much you can earn and how many jobs you can find – this is very important to know before joining.

Another thing I have seen mentioned many places is about the Wonolo support.

There are quite a few complaints about poor support.

The person leaving the review above on Yelp says that he has very poor experiences with the support. And unfortunately, I have seen quite a lot of people saying the same.

However, when you look at the reviews in Google Play, the support answers there quite quickly.

But from all the feedback I have seen during my research, it seems there sometimes is slow support. So this means that if you should need support, you might sometimes need to write several times and be quite patient which can be annoying.

However, from looking at how the support answers on the Google Play reviews, it seems like there is support. Sometimes it is seemingly just not so fast.

Final verdict

Wonolo is a legit way to find jobs in your local area.

But it also has its disadvantages, and whether it is the right option for you or not depends on your goals and expectations.

But as an extra way to make money flexibly, it can be a good option depending on where you live. And at least it is free to use, so you can always sign up and check the options in your area.

So If you accept the potential ups and downs in the available work, it can be a way to make money on your own terms.

But if you want to create an income where you are not dependent on being hired by someone else, then you need to look for other options instead.

Is there a better alternative?

As mentioned, Wonolo is not for everyone as the number of available jobs will depend a lot on where you live so you will never really know how much you can earn.
