Is the Ecom Formula a Scam? (Do Not Trust the 5-Star Reviews)

You are probably here, because you are wondering, if you can make money with the Ecom Formula and want to know more before joining.

So is the Ecom Formula a scam, or is it a great and fast way to make money online?

Let me start by saying that it is great you are doing some more research before joining. However, there are many 5-star Ecom Formula reviews, so you might get the idea, it is a great system to join.

You should however NOT trust these 5-star reviews – I will show you why later, and in this review I will also show you all the other warning signs these reviews are not telling you about.

What is the Ecom Formula and what does it offer?

The Ecom Formula is supposedly a system that will teach you how to become rich on ecommerce.

The owner Neil Atkinson says he has used all his years of experience into developing this system and secret website that will teach you everything.

According to him, you will learn everything you need to know to set up your own ecommerce store within 24 hours.

You are told you can get your online business set up in 24 hours.

This is a big promise. Theoretically it is definitely possible to have a store set up in 24 hours. You should however be aware that it will not just start making money automatically just because it is up.

So even though the sales video of the Ecom Formula might indicate that you can start making money within 24 hours, you should not expect this.

It takes more time and effort than just a day to build a successful ecom store.

What you will learn through this system is to make a store without having any of the products your self – this is also called dropshipping, and it is a way where you can sell products online by being the middleman between the producer of the products and the customers. This way you do not have to have any of the products yourself, but just processes the orders and make money this way.

It is definitely possible to make good money online like this – I do however not believe the Ecom Formula will help you achieve this. The training is superficial and consists mostly of a PDF and some small videos. It will not be enough to make you succeed and make the kind of money the system claims.

So the method taught through the Ecom Formula is a real and legit way to make money online. But there are many reasons you should not rely on the Ecom Formula to learn this. Have a look at the warning signs explained below, and then judge for yourself, if it is a system you will trust.

Warning signs to be aware of!

The Ecom Formula has many warning signs you need to be aware of and consider before investing any money in the program. Some of the biggest warning signs are:

No info about the owner

A big warning sign is that you do not know who the owner and inventor of this program is. You are just told his name is Neil Atkinson, and then he tells about all his great experiences within the online world.

Many programs similar to the Ecom Formula just use a generic name and tells a story about the owner that you have no way to check, and there is no proof it is true. There is however proof it might very well just be a fictional person/name used to sell the product.

In the sales video of the Ecom Formula, you are showed a picture of Neil and his wife traveling.

I did an image search of this, and I found several images of “Neil” and his wife on a cruise ship on the stockphoto platform 123rf. This shows that the images used in the video to try to create trust, by showing Neil with his wife and telling his story, are just stock photos. It is not actually Neil – unless Neil and his wife are also models:-)

Fake testimonials

The stock photos of “Neil” is not the only fake info used in the sales video of the Ecom Formula.

There are several video testimonials by satisfied users. These are used to show you how other people have succeeded and these stories are a big part of Neil’s sales pitch, and of his arguments why this system is so great.

The problem is just that the testimonials are fake. It is video testimonials he has bought.

For example take a look at this guy who in the video tells about how much success he has had with the Ecom Formula system.

This guy is selling testimonials on fiverr.

The same guy is selling video testimonials on fiverr. On the page on fiverr he even says that you can just send him a script, and then he will do the testimonial for you.

Here is another proof the video testimonials are fake.

This guys is giving “testimonials” for several get-rich-online programs.

When I saw this guy in the Ecom Formula video, I recognized him right away. He is doing a very similar testimonial of another system I have previously reviewed and advised against called 30 Minute Money Method. He is even wearing the same shirt in the videos, so no doubt it is the same guy:-)

So it is clear to see that you should not trust the testimonials, as they are just saying what they have been paid to say.

In addition to this being a dishonest way of doing marketing in my opinion, it makes you think about the potential of the system. If the system really was as great as it claims, would it then not be possible to get testimonials from real users instead of by paid actors?

Affiliate marketing is not dead

Neil claims that he used to make a lot of money by doing affiliate marketing. He says that this used to work, but affiliate marketing is now dead, and you cannot make money with it anymore.

This is far from true. It is still very possible to make money with affiliate marketing. I know this from personal experience and by doing affiliate marketing the proper way, you can learn to build an online income no matter your previous experience.

It is true that many people in the past suddenly saw a drop in traffic to their sites and thereby income, when Google did some big updates. This is also what Neil tells happened to him. The reason was however that the sites that used dodgy methods and did not focus on quality was punished by Google.

From what I have seen about the quality of the Ecom Formula, I think it is likely that Neil lost his income, because he did not focus on quality (if Neil even exists), and not because affiliate marketing does not work anymore.

Affiliate marketing definitely still works, and I know this for a fact, as I am making money through it myself, by following this process.

Making money fast

Compared to certain other get-rich-online programs, the Ecom Formula is at least not claiming, you can just click a few buttons, and then you will become rich.

However, you are told several times the system can make you rich.

You are told the Ecom Formula can make your rich.

The whole presentation video is about telling you how much money people make on ecommerce and by using the Ecom Formula.

You are also told you can get your first store set up in less than 24 hours, and Neil tells how he had a $10,000 day after only a couple of weeks using this system.

Be aware that you definitely can make good money online, but you should not expect to get a $10,000 day after only a couple of weeks. This would only happen, if you have a lot of experience and a big budget for ads.

I know the Ecom Formula is not as such promising you can get these results, and if you look in the disclaimer, it also says they do not guarantee any earnings. But all the claims and the testimonials in the video more than indicates that you can make fast money online using this system.

Making money online is in general not a get-rich-quick thing, and you should definitely not expect the Ecom Formula to make you this kind of money.

Dishonest about the pricing

Another warning sign is that you are told there are only a small fee to join, and you only have to pay this fee once, and there will be no monthly subscription fee.

You are told there only is a one-time fee. This is not exactly true.

This is kind of true, as you do only have to pay the joining fee once, and there is no subscription fee.

However, this does not mean you will not have to pay more. There are several upsells after you join. I will go more into details about this in the pricing section below, but for now just be aware that the Ecom Formula is not telling the full truth about the price of joining.

Why you should not trust the 5-star reviews

When you look for reviews of the Ecom Formula, you can find quite a lot of very positive reviews.

There are several positive Ecom Formula reviews just trying to sell to earn a commission themselves.

This might convince you that it is a system that works. But be aware there is a reason these review recommend the Ecom Formula.

The Ecom Formula has an affiliate program, where it pays people commission, if they promote the system. They offer this through ClickBank, which is an affiliate network.

Unfortunately this means some people are willing to say whatever it takes to make a sale and make a commission. The same way some people are willing to make a video testimonial about any product, as long as they get paid.

This is definitely not honest affiliate marketing, and not an approach I support. So just be aware that the 5-star reviews you find are not telling the full truth. They will for example not tell you about the use of fake testimonials, that the owner is not real, or show you any of the other warning signs, as they just want to convince you to buy the program to get a commission.

I just wanted to make this clear, so you know why some Ecom formula reviews are so positive, when there are so many warning signs. So look at all the info together, and use it to make the right decision for you.

The true Ecom Formula pricing

As one of the warning signs, I mentioned that the Ecom Formula is not honest about its pricing.

At first it looks very simple. You are told it just costs $37, and this is just a one-time fee. However, as I mentioned above, the Ecom Formula has an affiliate program itself, where it pays people to promote it. By looking at the information here, you can see that the $37 will not be the final price.

The affiliate info reveals there will be upsells after you join.

Here you can see that you can earn up to $330 per sale, if you refer someone to the Ecom Formula. This is just a commission. From this you can figure out that there will be upsells after you join, and you will be pushed to invest further money, and it can end up costing you a lot more than just the $37, if they can afford paying people $330 in commission.

So take this into consideration as well before joining. The price is just one of the many things the Ecom Formula is not being transparent about – so would you trust a system that uses these kinds of tricks to teach you to make money online?

Final thoughts

It is pretty clear that I do not think the Ecom Formula is worth investing in. But let’s sum up the pros and cons, so you can get a full overview why that is.

Pros:

• Dropshipping is a real way to make money online
• Money back guarantee for your joining fee

Cons:

• Fake testimonials
• Fake image of owner
• Not honest about price
• General exaggerated claims

The only good thing I can really say about the Ecom Formula is that it offers a money back guarantee for your initial investment, but as you now know, it can end up costing you a lot more than the initial fee to join. Also, building an ecom store and doing dropshipping is a real way to make money.

In my opinion you should however not trust the Ecom Formula system to teach you how to make money online. The sales page is full of warning signs and false information. What kind of info do you think you will get from a system that is this dishonest, before you join?
