This is what Naming Force supposedly offers.

But is Naming Force a scam or really a great way to earn online?

Let me just reveal right away that it is legit and you can potentially earn as a member. But this does not mean it will necessarily be worth your time.

That really depends on your skills and your income goals.

This Naming Force review will give you all the details so you can easily see if you should join or not.

Summary

Naming Force is a legit platform and it can be a way to earn a bit extra if you are creative and like coming up with names for businesses and products.

You should, however, do it with the right expectations and be aware that there is no guarantee you will ever win a contest.

So if you join it should be as a fun extra “job” with the chance of earning a bit extra. But you should not count on the earnings for your monthly budget.

If you are looking for a more consistent source of income online, you should look elsewhere instead.

What is Naming Force and what does it offer?

Naming Force has existed since 2009 so it has been around for a while and it is a legit platform.

The idea of the platform is to use the power of the crowd to come up with great names for new businesses and products.

This is done through naming contests.

So you can join Naming Force as a “Namer” to participate in these contests and potentially win great cash prizes, or you can join as a client if you need help coming up with creative names for your business.

This review will, however, focus on how good the platform is if you want to join as a namer to make money by coming up with names.

In some ways, it is similar to the platform Squadhelp if you are familiar with that. But there are also some big differences.

So let’s go over what Naming Force offers if you join as a namer.

Feature 1 – Naming contests

The naming contests are what Naming Force is all about.

These are regularly posted and on the website, you can see what contests are currently running you can participate in.

naming force contest examples

You can easily get an overview of the current contests.

For each contest, you can see more about what the client is looking by clicking to read the full description and you can also right away see the prize you will get if you end up winning the contest.

You can also see all the names that have already been submitted and you are, of course, not allowed to submit duplicate names.

To participate you have to sign up as a Namer on the website and it is free to sign up.

Once you have been accepted, you can start going through the different contests and submitting suggestions.

How many names you can submit for each contest depends on your membership level (more about this below).

Each contest finishes at a certain date – usually, a contest will run for 7 days.

Then after this, it is time for the voting phase to find a winner.

Feature 2 – Vote for names

Once phase one of a contest is over, it is time for the voting phase and as a namer, you can also participate in this.

Often there will be potentially thousands of suggestions for each contest so to make it easier for the clients to get an overview of the best names, the voting phase will help sort the good from the bad names.

You can vote for the different names and so can other members. This will rank the names based on the number of votes and the more votes a suggestion gets, the higher it gets on the list.

After around 3 days this phase will finish and the list will be given to the client.

However, it is not necessarily the highest ranked name that will get picked. The clients get access to all the names and can freely choose.

If your name is the one getting picked by the client, you will get the predetermined prize.

So it is a fairly simple system. However, the membership level you have will affect your chances of getting picked so let’s go more in details about these levels.

Naming Force levels

As a namer, you have the chance to get different membership levels on Naming Force.

The level you have will depend on what they call a Naming Score. It will be a score based on have many votes you get in contests, how good your names are, etc.

The score is dynamic and changes from day to day so your membership level can also change from day to day.

The three levels are:

  • Cadet: Score 0 – 19
  • Corporal: Score 20 – 64
  • Sergeant: Score 65+

As a Cadet, you can submit 2 names per contest, as a Corporal 4-8, and as a Sergeant 8-15 names.

In addition to this, you cannot participate in the voting phase as a Cadet.

So it does have some advantages to get a higher membership level. But if your names are good enough, you can still definitely win as a Cadet.

Who can join?

There are not as such any special skills or anything like that you need to be able to join Naming Force as a Namer.

But there are some requirements.

naming force registration

You can only join from the US and Canada.

You can only join if you live in the US or Canada. You also have to be at least 18 years old.

But these are the only requirements you have to live up to.

How much can you earn on Naming Force?

A very important question before you decide if Naming Force is for you or not is, of course, how much you can expect to earn.

It is, however, very difficult to give an exact answer for as it depends very much on how good you are at coming up with creative names.

Remember, you are participating in a contest and if you do not win, there will not be any earnings. Only the winner gets money.

So you can potentially end up participating in a lot of contests and risk never earning anything. But if you are good at coming up with names, you can make some nice extra earnings.

The prize you get for winning depends on the contest but usually, it is between $50 – $500. However, from what I have seen it is mostly around $50 – $250 and only rarely there are contests that give $500 but it does happen.

On Naming Force’s website, you can see a leader board from the past 60 days which gives you an indication about how much you can earn if you end up being one of the top earners.

naming force leader board

The top earners over the past 60 days.

As you can see, it can give some nice extra cash if you end up winning a lot of contests. But the earnings above are from the top earners and NOT the average earnings.

There are often thousands of submissions for each contest so it will definitely not be easy to win. But if you win, it will give you some nice earnings.

And as an extra job, it might also not take you much time to come up with names if you are very creative.

You just need to do it with the right expectations and know that there is no guarantee you will earn anything as it is a contest you are participating in.

One thing extra in their terms you just need to be aware of is that in case the client decides to use more names or use your name suggestion even though it was not chosen as the winner, there is nothing you can do about it according to their terms.

naming force terms

Be aware that your name suggestions can potentially be used even if you do not win.

Once your name suggestion is on the list, the client can basically do with it what they want even if you are not chosen as the initial winner as you can see described in the image above.

This does not necessarily affect your earning chances but it is just something to be aware of so it does not come as a surprise if you suddenly see one of your name suggestions is being used even though you did not win.

How do you get paid?

If you end up winning a contest, it is important to know how you will get your earnings.

Naming Force will pay you through PayPal and that is currently the only way you can get your earnings. But PayPal is very convenient so a great payout method, in my opinion.

A great thing is also that as soon as you have been approved as the winner, you will get the prize transferred.

So the payout conditions and method are pretty good on Naming Force.

Final verdict

Naming Force is a legit platform and it can be a way to earn a bit extra if you are creative and like coming up with names for businesses and products.

However, you need to do it with the right expectations and it is not for everyone.

So let’s finish this review by summing up the pros and cons so you can get a better overview before deciding if it is for you or not.

prosPros:

  • Can be a fun way to potentially earn if you are creative
  • Free to join
  • Pays out quickly

consCons:

  • There is A LOT of competition
  • No guarantee you will earn
  • Limited earning potential

Overall, I think Naming Force can be a fun way to try to earn a bit extra if you are creative and fast at coming up with names.

If it does not take you long, then why not submit some suggestions once in a while and get the chance to win the nice prizes.

You should just do it with the right expectations and be aware that there is no guarantee you will ever win a contest so you can end up never earning anything.

So if you join it should be as a fun extra “job” with the chance of earning a bit extra. But you should not count on the earnings for your monthly budget.

If you are looking for a more consistent source of income online, you should look elsewhere instead.
