Summary

Silk Road Effect is a new program that claims it can help you make $1,800 a day through dropshipping. Based on what its so-called creator Steven Jenkins says, Silk Road Effect is the most ideal system that can help you create a sustainable income online.

Steven also claims that you can easily make $34,000 a month using his revolutionary system, and it can easily be set up in just a few minutes.

One of the biggest red flags for me are the hidden upsells since it’s not revealed on their video, and it seems they are giving you the impression that you only need to invest $17, while in fact you’ll be encouraged to spend hundreds of dollars after joining.

As for me, I cannot recommend this program because it contains several red flags that make it a risky investment.

Therefore, I suggest that you find other legit opportunities online that can genuinely give the results you deserve and that are transparent from the start.

Important Update – Silk Road Effect closed!

In November 2019 Silk Road Effect was no longer available through Clickbank which it used to be sold through. At that time it then continued to be sold through the ClickBetter network.

However, as of doing this update of the review, Silk Road Effect is no longer online and no longer available to buy. This proves the point I made in my initial review – that it was NOT a sustainable program and the red flags made that clear.

You can still read through this review and learn some things to look for so you can avoid buying other similar programs in the future that ends up just closing down.

Or you can instead check out my top recommended long-term way of building a real online business.

What is Silk Road Effect and what does it offer?

Based on its so-called creator Steven Jenkins, Silk Road Effect is the most ideal system that can help you create a sustainable income online.

This program revolves around drop shipping and creating an e-commerce site where you will sell your products to thousands of people online.

He also says that this program is for everyone because the requirements are not too steep.

This means you can start your dropshipping business even if you don’t have any prior experience or technical skills in e-commerce.

Steven also claims that you can easily make $34,000 a month using his revolutionary system, and it can easily be set up in just a few minutes.

Steven claims you can earn 34k a month.

Anyway, dropshipping is a legit business model where you sell products through your online store, but you don’t keep your stocks in a physical warehouse.

Your trade partner where you bought your products will keep them for you.

The wholesaler who is also your partner will fulfill the order on your behalf, so when someone purchases your products, they will deliver the item directly to your customer.

Also, you can use several platforms in creating your e-commerce store like Squarespace, Shopify, WordPress, Wix, etc.

However, you’ll need some technical skills to develop an e-commerce store, but it’s the most common method used by successful online business owners.

Honestly, when Steven said that it’s easy to set up an e-commerce store and you can do it in a couple of minutes, I became skeptical, and I think it’s too good to be true.

I’m not saying that it’s hard to build an online store, but you can’t set it up in just a few minutes like  Steven claims on their sales video.

This is just one of the important things you need to know about Silk Road Effect. Below I have mentioned several other factors you definitely need to know and consider before investing any money.

Silk Road Effect Red flags

When I first saw the income claims on the SRE site, I was a bit skeptical since the claims are outrageous – especially when Steven says that his incredible method was forbidden by the west for thousands of years.

silk road effect review income claim

Another of Steven’s income claims.

And he is now sharing it with you so you can also be a millionaire in 12 months.

This is in itself quite funny since the internet has not existed that long, or maybe Steven forgot to research on that:-)

So, based on his claims you’ll be successful in his program as long as you follow his revolutionary method.

I think it is very likely you will end up being disappointed if you blindly believe all these claims.

This is the reason  I wrote this review, so you’ll know more about this program and hopefully, shed some light on what this program really offers so you can make an informed decision.

Here are some of the red flags you should know about this Silk Road Effect.

Red flag #1 – You need technical skills to build an e-commerce site

Based on their sales video, Steven says that this program is beginner-friendly which means anyone can easily set up an e-commerce store even without technical skills or prior experience.

He even claims that this so-called revolutionary system can will do everything for you, and you’ll only need to invest minimal effort to make everything work.

In my opinion, it seems he’s only interested in telling you the positive outcomes, but he is NOT transparent enough to tell you how his system works and what you need to fulfill on your end.

It’s amazing to see all those income proofs, but it’s essential to see his own dropshipping store and to see the back-end of it, so you’ll know he is really earning that kind of money he is presenting on their sales video.

As an affiliate marketer myself, I know that building a website is not that hard, but without training and some proper technical training, it will be very difficult for you to create a working e-commerce store.

In fact, you’ll need to spend a lot more by hiring a developer to build the online store for you, and that will cost you a lot of money if you do not get proper training about how to do it yourself.

This can definitely not be done is just a few minutes.

Not to mention the costs of hosting your site, so it becomes live on the web. It’s safe to say that this program is 100% NOT suited for beginners.

I hope you take this red flag seriously since it will directly affect you if you’re still new to dropshipping.

Red flag #2 – Selling your products on Amazon and eBay is NOT that easy

Based on my research, once you bought Silk Road Effect for $17, you’ll receive some training on how to start your own dropshipping business.

Another option he recommends is to sell your products directly on Amazon and eBay.

So once you found the product you want to sell and have bought your stock from your trade partner (wholesaler), you then list this product and instruct the supplier to ship the item to your buyer when you make a sale.

You need to understand that Amazon and eBay require its sellers to have their own brand site before they can register their own brand and list their items on Amazon.

silk road effect amazon requirement to sell

According to Amazon’s policy, you’ll need to create your own brand site before you can sell products under your own brand.

Hence, you really need to have your own online store because it will be difficult for you to list your items under your own brand on these platforms without having your own e-commerce store.

So, this means it’s NOT advisable to sell your items without having your own online store, but Steven didn’t explain that on their sales page.

Another thing to consider is the competitors who will be selling the same products as you, so it will be harder for you to make a sale if you’re still new on these platforms.

In fact, you’ll need to get a lot of positive reviews because that’s what potential buyers are looking for.

They often look at the reviews before they decide to buy a product and if they see you have zero reviews, they might ignore your listings and go to a more reputable seller who has reviews on their listings.

Therefore, it will take some time before you build up your reputation on these e-commerce platforms and you might need to spend some money to run pay-per-click ads on both Amazon and eBay to at least get some traffic to your listings.

These are the things that Steven didn’t mention on his sales video and, in my opinion, a significant red flag you need to know about before you decide to purchase this program.

Red flag #3 – Steven Jenkins is NOT a real person

Another thing that I would like to point out is the lack of information about Steven Jenkins on their site.

The narrator on their sales video of Silk Road Effect says he is Steven Jenkins, but he doesn’t show his face, nor does he give you any relevant info about himself.

He doesn’t even reveal his social media accounts, and that could be a great way of verifying who he really is.

For me, this is a big red flag since the owner wants to stay anonymous and wouldn’t want to share his or her contact details.

Are you willing to buy a program when you don’t even know who you are dealing with?

In fact, if Steven Jenkins is a real person and a millionaire like he claims to be, then he should be on social media, or you might see him in his own personal website.

In my opinion, the real owners of this program are NOT transparent enough to reveal they’re true identity.

This clearly shows that the real owners of this program are hiding something from you, and they don’t want you to know about it.

Again, this is another significant red flag to consider before you make your final decision.

Red flag #4 – They don’t have any legal pages

On the sales page of Silk Road Effect, you will find a form that requires you to input your email before you can access the checkout page.

The issue I have here is that they don’t provide any privacy policy or terms and conditions page where you can find the policies that the owners of this program adhere to.

For me, this is a big red flag because you don’t know what they will do to your email.

In fact, there’s a risk that they might even sell your email to shady business owners and third parties since they didn’t specify any privacy policy.

I can, of course, not say they are doing this, and it is very likely they will not. But we cannot know, since they are not telling us what they will do with our email.

Are you willing to give your personal detail to a site that doesn’t have any legal pages and doesn’t tell you how they will use your details?

Always remember, a legitimate website will always have legal pages since it’s a requirement they legally need to fulfill on their site.

In my opinion, not having any legal pages on the Silk Road Effect sales page is unethical and it’s NOT the best way of promoting their program to potential members.

This is another red flag to think about before you decide to purchase their program.

Red flag #5 – Expect upsells

Based on my research, I found out that when you purchase the program for the initial fee of $17, you’ll be given access to SRE’s membership page and some of the training materials they have there.

silk road effect membership page

Silk Road Effect membership page.

You’ll also see several upsells on this page which includes the following:

Upsell #1 – Shopify ($29-$299/per month)

Upsell #2 – The Silk Road Effect Deluxe Club ($197)

Upsell #3 – Marco Polo Secret ($197)

In my opinion, it’s clear that these upsells are not revealed on their sales page, and you are led to believe that $17 is enough for this program, but in reality – you need to spend a lot more.

In fact, the $17 is just an entrance fee to their membership page, and you’ll be encouraged to purchase their upsells so that you can move forward with their program.

For me, this is unacceptable especially if you’re a complete beginner in e-commerce because you’re still in the process of learning dropshipping and creating your own e-commerce site, but they are already encouraging you to spend a lot of money on their upsells.

I’m not questioning the quality of their upsells, but I don’t like the methods they are using to promote their product.

I consider this red flag a deal breaker since they haven’t been transparent in providing all the details of these upsells on their sales video.

They should have explained those upsells, so you’ll know how much you need to invest before joining their program.

Final verdict – legit or scam?

Since I have shown you all the red flags I have gathered on their sales page, I think it’s time for you to decide if this program is for you or not.

So, is Silk Road Effect a scam or a legit opportunity that can lead you to financial freedom?

Your answer will depend on your perspective, background, and budget, so if you find some value in training, they provide on their membership page; then this program might not be a waste of time after all.

But there definitely are some things you seriously need to think about before joining, so you know what you are really getting into.

To help you make an informed decision, I will further summarize some of the pros and cons of this program.

Pros

  • Dropshipping is a legit business model pros
  • 60-day money back guarantee

Cons

  • The program is not beginner-friendly cons
  • Creating an e-commerce site is not as simple as it seems
  • Steven Jenkins is not a real person
  • They have expensive upsells
  • They don’t have legal pages on their site

As for me, I cannot recommend this program because it contains several red flags that make it a risky investment.

One of the biggest red flags for me are the hidden upsells since it’s not revealed on their video, and it seems they are giving you the impression that you only need to invest $17, while in fact you’ll be encouraged to spend hundreds of dollars in their upsells.

Also, you need to know that earning through dropshipping will NOT happen with just a few minutes of work. This is something you really need to be aware of so you know what really to expect.

I think there are too many important things Silk Road Effect does not tell you before joining.

Therefore, I suggest that you find other legit opportunities online instead that can genuinely give the results you deserve and that are transparent from the start.

But wait there’s more…
