McMoney App is supposedly a way for you to earn just by receiving text messages on your phone.

Almost sounds too good to be true, right?

So is McMoney App legit or is it a scam?

Well, let me just reveal right away that it is legit BUT this does not mean it will necessarily be worth your time.

That depends a lot on what you expect and it has some big drawbacks you need to be aware of.

This McMoney review will give you all the details so you know exactly what to expect and can see if it is for you or not before you join.

What is McMoney App and what does it offer?

McMoney App is an app developed and run by the Dutch company CM Technology.

You can, however, join no matter the country you live in.

So it has a legit company behind it. However, this does not necessarily mean it will be worth your time. This review will help figure that out before spending any time on it.

The idea is that you will help the company improve worldwide communication by receiving test text messages once in a while.

They will get paid to do these tests and will share a part of their earnings with you as a member.

But to fully understand what that requires from you, let’s go a bit deeper into the earning process.

How do you earn?

The earning process on McMoney is actually very simple and you can almost call it passive earning.

You download the app, register with your phone number, and then start receiving text messages.

You will then earn a small amount of money for each text message you receive.

Just be aware that the text messages will not contain any meaningful messages. It will just be random characters so do not let that confuse you.

You should not reply and you can delete the text messages right away.

So quite easy, but the real question to find out if it is worth it is then how much money you can make this way.

How much can you earn?

To be honest with you, the earning potential is not big but it does also not require much work – that is often connected when it comes to online earning opportunities.

If you want to earn real money online, it will not happen just by receiving a few text messages.

McMoney App does not have much information on their website about how much you can earn per text. The lack of in-depth information on the website is a general issue, in my opinion.

But they do say you can earn around $5 per month.

I did some more research online and it seems like you get $0.02-$0.06 per SMS depending on the country you live in.

And there is no guarantee you will receive enough to actually earn the $5 they mention on the website.

In fact, even if you live in a country where you get the highest possible reward, you would need to receive around 3 messages per day to reach the $5 per month.

And as they write on their website, you will only receive SMS once in a while, so you should probably not expect to reach the full earning potential very often.

So overall, it is really not a way to earn a lot. You, of course, do not have to do much either, but whether you think it is worth it for this money or not, I will leave up to you to decide.

How do you get paid?

You, of course, also need to know how you will then be able to get your earnings.

Luckily they offer a good payout method as you can get your earnings out in cash through PayPal.

You can request a payout once you have earned a minimum of $1.

So a nice low payout threshold and good payout method, in my opinion.

How to download McMoney App?

To be able to get started with McMoney, you need to first download the app.

It can only be used on Android phones so if you have another phone, this option is not for you.

It used to be available through the Google Play Store, but as of writing this review that is not the case. When you try to enter it there, you get an error message.

According to McMoney itself, this is due to regulations by Google regarding the functionalities of the app. They do not mention more about what this means which is a bit strange.

But at the moment you cannot download it there but you have to do it on McMoney’s own website. Here they have a download button at the top of the screen you need to click to get the McMoney APK.

There is, however, one more thing you need to be aware of.

According to McMoney itself, the app is known to have issues when certain other messaging apps are installed on your phone.

These other messaging apps can sometimes interfere with the messages you receive from McMoney and they will thereby not always get detected. If that happens, you will not get paid for the messages.

So they suggest you only use the default messaging app to avoid problems.

In my opinion, this is a big issue. First of all, they do not mention in more details which messaging apps it is known to have issues with.

They should at least mention these apps so you can see if you are using any of them.

Secondly, this suddenly means you might not be able to use some of your favorite apps because they will interfere with the McMoney App.

Personally, this is a deal breaker for me, as I would not be willing to have such restrictions on my phone just for a few extra dollars per month.

If you are not using any other messaging apps, it might be different for you, and then it can be a way to earn a bit without much effort. But you definitely need to consider this aspect before joining.

In addition to this, certain devices like Huawei, block services of certain apps like McMoney in a power profile to save power. When McMoney is blocked, you will not be able to receive messages and not be able to earn.

So you have to make sure to test how your phone is reacting after installing McMoney App to be sure you actually get paid.

Final verdict – legit or scam?

McMoney is a legit app with a legit company behind it.

However, it also has some serious limitations you need to be aware of so you join with the right expectations if you decide to join.

To give you a better overview before deciding, let’s finish by summing up the pros and cons.

Pros:

• Free to join
• You can earn more or less passively

Cons:

• Very low earning potential
• Other messaging apps might not work
• Certain devices block McMoney so you will not get paid
• Cannot be downloaded through official app stores anymore

Overall, it is very easy to earn with McMoney App as you just need to have it installed and receive text messages once in a while.

However, the earning potential is very low and the potential issues and limitations you can get on your phone is a big problem, in my opinion.

Even though it is easy to earn, I would not be willing to have such restrictions on my phone just to potentially earn a couple of dollars per month.

But if it is worth it or not for you, I will leave up to you. Now at least you know exactly what to expect and what to be aware of before deciding to download McMoney or not.
